16-year-olds could vote in Greenbelt elections after referendum passes

An advisory referendum to grant 16- and 17-year-olds the right to vote in municipal elections in Greenbelt, MD passed with 53 percent of the vote November 7, 2017. Youth leaders are optimistic that the city council will pass a charter amendment to officially lower the local voting age in the coming months.
