Expanding Voting Rights in the District of Columbia
Members of the organization Our C.A.P.S. worked with City Council Member Charles Allen to introduce a bill in November 2015 to lower the voting age to 16 for elections in Washington, D.C. A coalition came together to support advance the bill, but it did not move forward in the 2015-2016 council session. We are now working with youth and community organizations to build support prior to introducing the bill again in 2017. Follow @Vote16DC for more.
