Teen Vote is a youth organization based in Knoxville, TN dedicated to increasing community engagement by lowering the voting age to 16 and promoting civics education. There is a compelling need for bold ideas to strengthen civic engagement and increase voter turnout. Teen Vote believes that lowering the voting age will empower youth to benefit their communities. The organization is working to lower the voting age in Knoxville, Tennessee by meeting with city council members and other local government officials. Teen Vote has also been awarded the Peace First grant for working to solve a community injustice. The organization is using the grant resources to create and print civics education curriculum for local and under-resourced schools, as well as for community outreach about the cause.
