Hawaii students are coming together to raise our voices and advocate a voting age of 16. The goal is to educate youth about the issue of suffrage, build solid community support, and open a dialogue with state legislators in preparation to introduce an amendment lowering Hawaii’s minimum voting age. We believe that it’s more important now than ever for young people to be able to speak their minds and be heard by the government, and that Hawaii is in a key position to lead the nation in adopting this idea.
